Vermont has a vast array of attractions ranging from various outdoor activities to farmers markets to book signings and readings to keep all interests and personalities happy all year long. In Southern Vermont alone, there are weekly indoor farmers markets in the winter months as well as local farm stands open year round providing the community with fresh produce to nourish our bodies. If you are up for challenging your body physically, there are snowshoe treks, snowboarding, tubing, skiing, cross country treks, as well as snowmobile tours available at Stratton and Mount Snow. Is skating your choice of activity? Manchester boasts a terrific opportunity to show off your talents at Riley Rink. In addition, there are numerous fitness clubs and spas available to help you achieve relaxation and rejuvenation. If nourishing your mind and creative side are your focus, opportunities await at our fantastic independent bookstores where book clubs, special author events and opportunities to learn new cultures or cuisines abound. Sleigh rides at local farms are also not to be missed during the winter months! Many even offer a picnic and hot cider or cocoa as well for your enjoyment.
The summer months in Vermont offer wonderful activities and attractions to enjoy as well. Southern Vermont is home to many popular golf destinations. Manchester and Stratton offer superior courses and golf instruction. In addition Stratton offers a Summer Concert Series every Saturday night through the summer months. Mount Snow has hosted the Tough Mudder Competition over the last two years which has proved popular with many different ages. Stratton also hosts Mountain Mayhem over Memorial Day Weekend, which is a similar venue. We are very fortunate to live in such a beautiful area with so much to offer in each season. Many of you may be aware that we comically refer to mud season as Vermonts fifth season. While it is thankfully short-lived, there are still things that make Vermont attractive during this time of year. Be it storewide sales, the opening of numerous Greenhouses/nurseries, book signing events at Northshire Bookstore, syrup tasting events or spring skiing, Vermont has what it takes to have fun and create wonderful memories. Whether you live here year round, or are only able to enjoy it several times a year.
